This is where you demonstrate your competence.
The RQF Level 3 examination provides formal recognition of your knowledge and understanding of BS 5839-1, demonstrating your competence in the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of fire detection and fire alarm systems.
Overview
Delivered by Ember Compliance as an accredited FireQual training provider, this examination assesses your knowledge against the requirements of BS 5839-1:2025 and supports competence in line with BAFE SP203-1 and other industry schemes.
The exam allows learners to demonstrate the knowledge gained through training and/or industry experience.

Successful completion leads to the award of:
RQF Level 3 Award in the Requirements of FD&FA Systems for Non-Domestic Buildings (BS 5839-1:2025)

Online Exam Requirements
It is important that you follow the setup instructions provided in your booking email to ensure you meet the requirements for sitting the exam online.
Please have available:
A valid form of identification (e.g. driving licence or passport)
A non-scientific calculator
A reliable internet connection
Calculators on mobile phones are not permitted.
Typically taken after completing Modules 1–5, or by those with equivalent industry experience.

This booking is for the assessment or examination only and does not include any classroom or online training.
If you require training before completing the assessment, please book the full course, which includes both the training and the assessment.

You do not need to have completed your training with Ember Compliance. If you've completed suitable training with another provider or have gained the required knowledge and experience through your work, you may book the examination, provided you meet any published entry requirements or prerequisites.
Online examinations are completed under live invigilation to ensure the integrity of the assessment process.
Full joining instructions will be provided before your examination date, including any technical requirements and identification checks.
You'll need to provide a valid form of photographic identification before the assessment begins. This may include a passport, driving licence or another accepted form of photo ID.
Any specific identification requirements will be included in your joining instructions.
Where permitted by the awarding organisation, a non-programmable calculator may be used during the assessment.
Calculator apps on mobile phones or other smart devices are not permitted.
If a calculator is allowed for your examination, this will be confirmed in your joining instructions.
Results are issued after your assessment has been marked and verified by the awarding organisation. Timescales may vary depending on the qualification, but we'll let you know when to expect your results and will contact you as soon as they are available.
